Today was a day full of autopsies! The first autopsy was a head only exam, which means the only thing examined is the brain. The second autopsy was extremely interesting. This individual was homeless, and was hit my a motor vehicle while walking near the interstate. The car didn't stop when they hit the individual so we were looking for evidence on that body that would give clues as to what kind of car hit the individual. While looking closely over the body, we found specs of paint in a laceration that the individual had on the nose. We also found a large chunk of paint in the individual's pants. The last autopsy that we completed today was an individual that got hit by a tree while working. There was not much on the outside of the individual, but there was a lot of damage on the spine as well as the ribs. I really enjoyed today and cannot wait to see what tomorrow has in store for me!
