Today we completed two autopsies. The first case was the worst overdose I have seen since being here at the coroner's office. The amount of damage to the outside of the body due to drug use was like nothing I have ever seen. The second autopsy was also a drug overdose. This autopsy was pretty normal. I enjoyed the autopsies very much today. Lots of laughs and learning. After lunch I went with investigator Nick to a suicide scene at a hotel. I liked being able to see the actual scene, instead of getting there after things had already been moved. We were able to observe the gun shot wound as well as find the bullet. When we first observed, it looked like there was no exit wound. But, once we moved the body we could tell the bullet exited through the individuals ear. So far, this was the most interesting scene I have been able to visit.
